Tropfest Australia 2012

Tropfest Australia 2012 took place yesterday, and with it came a bunch of new short films to check out. This year was a very much live action dominated festival with surprisingly no animations being selected as finalists. This years winner was a quirky tale of a council worker trying to shut down a small family lemonade stand.

'Benny and Grandad are best friends and never leave each other's side. They also run the most successful light refreshment stand in town. Yet all could change when an old neighbour decides to get in the way'

Also noteworthy, Tropfest Arabia in Abu Dhabi recently held their first Film Festival with a short stop motion piece being declared the winner. The film titled 'Flock of Stars' is a story of pollution and it's effects on our natural world. The film can be viewed below:
