It's been a while since a film I've worked on was released. When animation wrapped up on Walking With Dinosaurs, we had to patiently wait a year before seeing it in all it's glory. That day finally came in Australia on New Years Day and I couldn't help but head over to the nearest cinema to check it out.
Despite reviews and opinions on the addition of the voices (a last minute decision and a complete direction change to what the film was when we animated it), Animal Logic's visuals have been thoroughly praised. Every review I've read adores the visual style and animation and is a testament to the hard work by the team at Animal Logic and the direction we were under.
It's always so exciting to see your hard work pay off and it truly is an incredible feeling to look around the cinema and see people enjoying what you worked so hard to help create. Children laughed throughout the film and genuinely seemed to enjoy it, with one very big kid being way too excited at every moment:
