These 3 shorts are some of the most emotionally powerful pieces of animation I have ever seen. It's remarkable how such a seemingly simplistic style of animation can have such a strong emotional impact through the story it's telling. These shorts share the story of those who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers. What the Rauch brothers have done is create a truly bitter sweet work of art that depicts events we've seen time and time again on the news in a much more real and personal manner.
If nothing else, one can walk away from these with a much stronger sense of perspective. Lives change in an instant and we must never take what we have for granted. These short animations truly touched me to not share these would be a great dishonour to anyone who's lost a loved one.
